Meet Our Team
If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that every member of our unique Film Theatre family cares for the continuation of this iconic venue and offering our customers an outstanding level of personal customer service. This is reflected in the superb feedback, which we enjoy receiving. If you have any comment or concern, please speak to any team member and we will do our best to clarify any query you may have.
Manager: Wayne Burns
Wayne was bitten by the celluloid bug at an early age and even had a cinema in the garden shed! Since joining the Film Theatre in 1992, Wayne has worked closely with the Town Council and the venue’s Support Club, to raise the profile of the venue, for the enjoyment of all those who enjoy visiting it. A prominent participant in the annual Pantomime for over 19 years, Wayne’s experience of live entertainment enables the venue to stage a number of carefully selected live performances throughout the year. Wayne’s book, Spilling the Popcorn, was published in 2014, as part of the Film Theatre centenary celebrations.
Assistant Manager: Becky Nichols
Becky has had a love of film for as long as she can remember and saw her first film (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial) at Leiston Film Theatre in 1982. Becky had always wanted to work at her local cinema and her chance came in 2016 when she was appointed as the venue’s Marketing Officer and then promoted to Assistant Manager in 2018. Becky describes the venue as her ‘happy place’ and enjoys being part of the Film Theatre family, but isn’t so keen when the auditorium floor is covered in litter at the end of a busy show!
